Nymphaeas: Photographing Water Lilies and Aquatic Plants in The Garden

Enjoy capturing the amazing water lily collection in Fairchild’s many pools. In this class, instructor Pedro Lastra will cover the camera settings and modes best suited to this type of photography. Time in the field will be used to learn the best angles, compositions and light to to capture the many beautiful water lilies in the garden. Basic concepts of composition, lighting and background management to achieve an artistic look will be reviewed. Students should be familiar with their camera’s basic exposure and focus controls as this class will not cover basic camera operations. An interchangeable lens camera with a long lens, at least a 300mm or a super zoom point and shoot camera is recommended. Short macro lenses are not recommended for this class.
